Lift/ Elevator Technician Mechanical, Existing Installation/ Maintenece Training

The Lift/Elevator Technician Mechanical Existing Installation & Maintenance program is geared towards technicians who will perform duties that focus on keeping already installed elevators in service, operating safely and reliably. To help develop the experience and skills in practical application and technical knowledge to perform the maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting and related work on existing elevators, our program offers content around the areas of: maintenance and inspection techniques, lubrication of the operating mechanisms, door mechanism and guide rail adjustments, remove and replace worn parts and the understand of the lubrication schedule of preventative maintenance. There will be off the vehicle training on the following issues to develop capacity to rapidly resolving common faults in: traction, hydraulic, machine room-less (MRL) elevator systems.

A vital area of this component of the training is teaching the technician how to read and interpret wire diagrams, service manuals and the electrical trouble shooting, fault error codes that apply to mechanical or electrical faults, service manuals etc. Safety practices are paramount throughout the entire training program as technician will be trained on the process of using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), safe work practices, emergency procedures and adherence to the OH&S section of the elevator standard. The program will offer training that will provide the technician opportunity to have a hands-on experience in detecting common faults, repairing breakdowns and performance testing of existing elevator installations. The technician will also complete training focussed on customer service expectations on behalf of the elevator clients.
